The English Learner (EL) Support Conference: Growing Success for ELs

The 4th annual EL Support Conference will offer a joint opening session and two 3-day training events. Participants choose one (1) event to attend for the full three days of training.

Co-teaching: This course will address ESL/General Education Collaboration including co-teaching and integration of content language, Gradual Release of Responsibility and SWIRL (Speak, Write, Interact, Read, Listen). The materials in this training will be based on Dr. Honigsfeld’s publications, Collaboration, and Co-Teaching.

Integrating Technology in the Classroom: Embrace technology and enhance learning! Find out how to utilize technology and build your confidence planning modern and engaging lessons to develop language and digital skills in the classroom. Join us and learn strategies to provide multiple ways to address your 21st Century students' needs and learning styles by integrating digital tools, review the NC Teacher Evaluation Process, start building your personal learning network, and participate in an interactive knowledge exchange.

Courses will spotlight the ties between the specific strategies for working with ELs and the NC Educator Evaluation System (NCEES).
