EL Coordinator Meeting January 25, 2018

Mid-year EL Coordinator's Meeting

Join us on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 8am- 4pm at the Embassy Suites in Greensboro NC for the Mid-year EL Coordinator’s meeting. ESL/Title III at NCDPI along with our accountability partners and others will share the latest information on ESSA Accountability for ELs, Consolidated Applications and Monitoring, Professional Development Offerings and more.
Registration:
Each attendee should register individually. There is no cap on the number of registrants from an LEA or Charter School for this event.

Update information in EDDIE

The Educational Directory and Demographical Information Exchange (EDDIE) is an online application containing LEA (school district) and school information.The English Language Coordinator position is available for LEAs/Charters to complete in EDDIE. These are the steps LEAs/Charters need to take to update their staff listing.


Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP)

ALL LEAs and Charters who have at least 1 identified EL student must complete the Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP) chart.

  • Title III Subgrantees complete the chart as part of the Title III Application process in the CCIP by August 18, 2017.

  • Non-Title III subgrantees (LEAs and Charters) with at least one identified EL based on the October 1 headcount must complete the LIEP chart and submit to NCDPI for review and approval by November 17, 2017.

Read the explanation of the LIEP purposes and review the sample of a completed chart. Fill in the template to match the EL support offered at your LEA/charter. Please fill in the complete chart, even if you do not currently have students who fit each category.

*Charters not submitting and receiving approval on the LIEP will receive a rating of Not Compliant on the annual Charter Performance Framework.
